Eugenio Santoro

Expert researcher in digital health, Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research

Eugenio Santoro is an expert researcher in digital health and works at the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research. Since 2006 he has been dealing with social media, apps, wearables, artificial intelligence and digital therapeutics and their impact on clinical practice, care and health communication. Author of over 300 scientific articles, he has published the volumes "Web 2.0 and social media in medicine", "Facebook, Twitter and medicine", "Guide to online medicine" and "Internet and medicine" (all published in Italian by Il Pensiero Scientifico Editore). In 2021 he edited the entry term "Digital Health" for the X Appendix of the Treccani encyclopedia dedicated to the words of the XXI century, and, as co-author, the white book "Digital Therapeutics, an opportunity for Italy". He serves as member of the ICT group of FNOMCeO (Federazione Nazionale degli Ordini dei Medici Chirurghi e degli Odontoiatri ) and as member of the Technical and Scientific Committee of the Parliamentary intergroup on health and digital therapeutics.
