Founded in 2015 and funded by the EU, EIT Health is a network initiative of more than 150 partners. Leading companies, public health institutions and renowned universities and research institutions from a total of 14 European countries support each other in a public-private partnership in the development of innovative programmes and projects to promote healthcare within Europe. The aim is to overcome the strong polarity of the different healthcare systems in Europe in order to open up new resources for established and young digital companies and to realise their ideas in common products and services for the European market. EIT Health’s work focuses on priority areas of high societal relevance: promotion of a healthy lifestyle, support for active ageing and improved health care.

EIT Health Germany is one of a total of six EIT Health Centres in Europe and currently supports 28 partners from industry, research and education in Germany and Switzerland. The EIT Health Germany team combines the knowledge and expertise to support these partners in project ideas, project development, liaison management and event management. By organizing its own projects in the region and participating in various strategic healthcare events on a regional and supra-regional level, EIT Health creates a fertile environment for growth that creates new companies and jobs in Germany and thus promotes a sustainable health economy in Europe.
