Paulo Martins is a Swiss-based entrepreneur and the Founder, President and CEO of Vitruvian Shield, the Lausanne medtech company building AI-native infrastructure for decentralised clinical trials and remote patient monitoring. He founded his first company, Swiss Custom Watches, in 2011 and led it until 2016, the year he founded Vitruvian Shield. Since 2022 he has driven the development of its clinical-grade platform, working with hospitals, research institutes and patient associations in Switzerland and Portugal. His work has been recognised with the European CEO of the Year award 2024–2025, the Portuguese National Innovation Award 2024 and first place at the APDC Health Awards 2025.
