Olivier Oullier, PhD, is a Professor in the Computing and Mathematical Sciences Division at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) and a leading researcher and entrepreneur in neuroadaptive and physical AI, specializing in multimodal brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). His inventions and products enable machines and digital environments to adapt in real time to users' movements and to their neural, cognitive, and emotional states.
They improve performance and safety in high-stakes environments such as surgery, energy operations, construction sites, motorsports, and defense while preserving physical and mental health. Alongside his academic role, he is co-founder and CEO of Inclusive Brains, the Startup of the Year 2024 that achieved three world firsts in non-invasive BCI, and Chairman of Biotech Dental Group's Institute for Artificial Intelligence.
He previously served as Global Head of Strategy for Health and Healthcare Industries and Executive Committee member at the World Economic Forum (WEF); President of EMOTIV, the global leader in portable brain-sensing technology; and Head of the French Prime Minister's Neuroscience and Public Policy Program.
A WEF Young Global Leader and one of France's AI Ambassadors, he was named to the 2024 list of AI Inventors of the Year.
