Dr. Moredreck Chibi is an internationally recognized leader in public health innovation, currently driving strategic initiatives at WHO Europe. He has led the development of both a regional Innovation Agenda and a strategy for harnessing innovation for public health, positioning innovation as a core lever for addressing priority health challenges across the region. He also spearheaded the establishment of the first WHO/Europe Innovation Platform—a mission-driven approach designed to bridge the innovation–implementation gap by bringing together innovators, academic institutions, patient organizations, civil society, and public health authorities to co-create solutions and support countries in navigating the pathway to scale and implementation. Previously, Dr. Chibi served as Regional Adviser for Science and Innovation at WHO Africa, where he pioneered Africa’s first regional Strategy for Scaling Health Innovations and chaired a UN coalition advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through science and digital transformation. With over twenty years of experience across WHO regional offices and headquarters, he is known for launching large-scale innovation challenges, building platforms that connect innovation ecosystems, and fostering international collaborations that translate ideas into impact. Dr. Chibi holds a PhD in Medical Biosciences, a Swiss Executive MBA in Innovation Management, and a Master of Public Health from Imperial College London. He is driven by a commitment to advancing evidence-based, equitable innovations that respond to diverse and evolving global health needs.
