Marek Ostrowski is a psychotherapist, digital health strategist, and serial entrepreneur with over 14 years of leadership experience across health tech, medical devices, and high-growth startups. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Prosoma, a company he established in 2018 alongside Emanuela Kufel and Andrzej Jończyk with the vision of reshaping the standard of mental health care for people affected by cancer.
With a rare blend of clinical psychology and business strategy, Marek has strategically positioned Prosoma at the crossroads of evidence-based therapy and state-of-the-art digital health delivery. The company’s flagship product, Living Well, is a CE-marked Class I medical device app tailored for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. It offers an integrated care experience rooted in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psycho-oncology, and AI-driven personalisation. Living Well has been proven to help users reduce psychological distress, with observed reductions in anxiety, depression, and stress levels of up to 50%. By providing scalable support through digital channels, the app also eases the mounting pressure on overstretched healthcare systems.
Under Marek’s leadership, Prosoma has rapidly expanded from a concept to a clinically validated platform with international reach. As of 2024, the company has secured reimbursement agreements with over 30 statutory health insurers across Germany and Switzerland, building a business model deeply embedded in public health systems. Although still in its early market rollout, Prosoma has already served approximately 40 patients in 2024, with aggressive growth targets of 9,000 patients annually by the end of 2025, and continued expansion is planned across Europe, the Middle East and North America.
Marek’s entrepreneurial career began in 2007 when he co-founded Luxon LED, a B2B industrial lighting manufacturer that scaled into a major player in the Polish market, generating over 60 million PLN in annual revenue. His successful exit from Luxon provided both the resources and operational insight needed to venture into digital health, an area more closely aligned with his core passion for mental health and patient-centred care.
As a graduate of the University of Wrocław, Marek holds a Master’s degree in Psychology (2010). His clinical foundation, coupled with his hands-on experience in patient support, shapes Prosoma’s unwavering commitment to empathy, evidence, and usability. He remains actively involved in product design and clinical collaboration, ensuring that the company's work maintains scientific credibility and therapeutic impact.
Marek is a regular speaker at international digital health conferences and has advised numerous startups on digital therapeutics, mental health innovation, and health system integration. His long-term ambition is to establish Prosoma as the world’s leading digital psycho-oncology provider, driving a global shift toward preventive, accessible, and compassionate mental health support for people living with cancer. This vision inspires us to strive for a future where mental health care is a fundamental part of cancer treatment.
