Since September 2024, Kurt has served as Senior Director of Digital Affairs at Siemens AG, driving digitalization and sustainability for smart hospitals. Prior to this, he held executive roles at EIT Health, where he led the Accelerator program supporting over 1,000 startups with €3 billion in investments, and served as Managing Director of both EIT Health Services and Investment GmbH and EIT Health Germany-Switzerland. He was also the founding director of the Central Institute of Healthcare Engineering at FAU and co-founded several health tech companies. A published researcher with 30+ papers and patents, Kurt holds a Diploma and Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Friedrich-Alexander-University (FAU), an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Deggendorf Institute of Technology (THD), and has conducted research at TU Munich, Johns Hopkins, and Santa Clara University. He also serves on the Erlangen (Germany) city council and the supervisory board of ESTW AG.
