Katrina Laks is the Co-founder and CEO of Migrevention, an Estonian digital health company that develops digital tools for managing migraine disorder and other primary headache disorders. She holds a Master's degree in Gene Technology from Tallinn University of Technology. Before founding Migrevention, she spent more than 15 years in academic and industry research on proteomics, metabolomics and biomarker discovery, including work on Alzheimer's disease and female infertility. Migrevention was founded in 2020 and certified as a manufacturer of software-based medical devices in 2022. More than 13,000 patients have used its CE Class I mobile application, and clinics in Estonia and the United Kingdom, including Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, have adopted the specialist solution. She aims to build the leading platform for managing migraine disorder, serving both patients and clinicians. Beyond Migrevention, Katrina works to strengthen Estonia's digital health ecosystem, focusing on digital innovation and consistent regulatory frameworks. She co-founded DTx Estonia, an alliance of digital therapeutics manufacturers. She serves on the boards of the Estonian Health Economy Association and the Estonian Migraine and Headache Patients Association.
