Dieter Zocholl has more than 20 years of experience in international procurement projects for hospitals and healthcare facilities. He has managed over 300 projects with a focus on medical devices (ranging from face masks to implants such as pacemakers, hip and knee replacements) and pharmaceuticals. He previously worked for several years at the international hospital chain Capio (now Ramsey Santé).
With his new start-up XMED iQ, Zocholl is in the process of setting up a pan-European sourcing platform dedicated to:
- Creating transparency across Europe
- Highlighting price differences of up to ten times for the same products across high and low cost European countries
- European bundling of unprecedented volumes and tenders to demonstrate market power to industry
A flagship project within this vision is the Vivalto Santé initiative, which aims to establish one of the first pan-European group purchasing organizations. Vivalto Santé is the third-largest private hospital group in France, with more than 50 clinics in France alone and a European presence across six countries with 100 facilities. The group manages a procurement volume of approximately €600 million for medical devices and pharmaceuticals. With strategic expansions in Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland, Vivalto Santé is doubling its business size, reaching a turnover of €2.4 billion in 2024.
